So since I havent seen much updates on in-app purchased music for this app, i decided to take matters into my own hands. I have found where the music is downloaded to when purchased by tracking 2 free songs that are in the music store for the rockband app. They were put into /private/var/mobile/Applications/***Whatever code your rockband.app was made into***/Documents. There seems to be quite a few separate files downloaded: each song has 10 files with the song name at the beginning of the file name, and there is 4 other files aswell: (mine is a1, a2, 778290.pkg, and tracking). Now with no other iDevice, I cannot test to c if it is transferable to another iPhone without cracking or modification, but it could be just a case of copying files. If theres anyone with multiple jailbroken iDevices who's willing to pay for a package of music (or u could try with the free music if u want) and c if the files are transferable?
So far, i havent seen anyone else working on this, but if someone is, can someone point out a link to any forum talking about this? thanks!
EDIT: After further inspection, it seems that the a1, a2, and tracking files may not be associated with the music files.

BINGO!:hooray::hooray::hooray:
So it seems that removing the files for the music and loading the Rockband.app on your phone makes it so it was like they were never there. Doesnt sound like much, but this means that those music files are THE ONLY things being modified when music is downloaded. The only thing that needs to be tested now is weither the music is specified for your device when you download, or if it is in no need for cracking.
In order to find this out, Ill need someones help. They will need to either
1) upload the above files in my previous post that are downloaded for the music in a zip and post the link. This can be for either the free download in the app, or a set of paid music if anyone has paid for some yet (paid would be preferred).
or
2) I can post the free music files later tonight and someone can try and SSH them into the proper folder on their phones and see if the music is "checked off as downloaded" in the music store.
Hope someone can help me out.:hooray:

Ok, so heres the deal so far...
There is good news, bad news, and good news again, and a prediction:
Good news: The music files (those not including the .pkg file) are substitutible from the ones given to me for those I downloaded myself. This means that they themselves contain no license.
Bad news: When I replaced the .pkg given to me (778289.pkg) for my own (778290.pkg), the downloaded content, when viewed in the music store, said "Installed/License Lost". This means that this .pkg file contains the license that will tell it from other devices.
Good news again: These .pkg files are identical to eachother with exception to the name. Even better, by renaming the 778289.pkg file to 778290.pkg, the music content starts working again! This means, if the number you need can be figured out, then this will solve the problem!
PREDICTION!: Now so far, I am only working on 3 different .pkg numbers I have received including my own and the one I tested with. But this is what I see:
778289.pkg—in a 3G phone (one occurrence)
778290.pkg—in a 3GS phone (three occurrences)
No correlation to firmware
This means that, if there is no outliers or exceptions, the codes may simply be related to the type of iDevice that it is downloaded on! And that makes life easy! If someone downloads the music files, all they have to do is upload them with the .pkg file, and say which iDevice they used. If yours is a 3G and they used a 3GS, subtract 1 from the # in the .pkg, and that should fix it.
NOW, I CANT PROMISE THIS IS TRUE, but as the trend shows, this is what I am seeing. I would like to test it and see more .pkg numbers, as well as some for ipod touch’s and the 2g iphone, but If I am right, then, they will also be different. If that’s right, then we just need to find the pattern and we can simply change the # of the .pkg number manually to figure out what works!
Hope this helps! Press "Thanks" if so! We need some paid music to test this!! If anyone has any, please post!!
Edit: One more note: I did not take into account if those people who's .pkg code I got were using a jailbroken copy of the rockband game. Can people confirm or deny? Mine is jailbroken.
