I wonder if this is making use of the ios 4 "is this iphone jailbroken api" that was removed by Apple in 4.2.1. Would be interesting to see if this app runs on a jailbroken 4.2.1. If so it means they must be doing their own checks...

Does the application still function properly? As Vina said Skype shows a similar message on startup, but the app is still fully functional.

downloaded and isntalled on my JB 4 @ 4.2.1 same error as stated above and app just closes after you clikc ok

Do you mind posting an IPA? I can only find "DStv Guide" which has a similiar logo (and gets stuck on the splash screen instead of showing a warning)

yep just downloaded and ran it, same thing as original post, Jailbroken phones are not supported. Good thing I didnt need the app, I just wanted to see if it worked

Also, what r0bop0lo posted plus this article http://suondmao.alte...Engineering.php means that a crack is very possible.

the plist comes up as MeidaData.xxx.plist wich makes it an invaled ipa to a jb device hence the code shown above to read a jb device... i have cracked the app , but havnt tested it ill report back later on the matter...

Ah great, you guys are working on a solution for this - THANKS! There are 334652(-1) apps in the appstore, and none of them do this check and then quits. Multichoice's reason for this is that they need to protect their content providers, and that a jailbroken device is seen as unsafe. Isn't a jailbroken device just ACCESS TO ROOT, and isn't a PC by default ACCESS TO ROOT? They allow the content to run on a PC, so where does it leave their argument then? I think it has more to do with ego/arrogance. A user was questioning TV out on their forum. They said it was disabled by default. The user then mentioned that one can easily enable it via a mod from Cydia. The next thing, an update that prevents jailbroken idevices from using the app, with their stupid explanation of content copy protection.
