REQUIREMENTS:
-ARM7-compatible CPU (iPhone 3G S and newer devices)
-iOS 4 (Best on 4.2.1)
-For optimal performance, use external speakers and leave the LCD turned on.
-Optional: Install and run "Remote" from the App Store to control iTunes from your device
-Optional: Install and run "AirView" from the App Store to stream videos

INSTRUCTIONS:
-Enable remote speakers under Devices, in the iTunes preferences.
-Install the AirPrint service if you still can't connect
-Look for the AirPlay icon

-After installing, use (in a terminal) the commands "airplay start" and "airplay stop" to temporarily pause and resume the server.
"airplay off" and "airplay on" persist across reboots.

What's strange is that remote doesn't find my library.

Nope it's not the same.

With this one you can listen to the music playing on your pc itunes though your iphone speakers.

With Airmusic, which I like but can't find a working ipa, you can browse and play your songs from your ipod on windows media player, ps3 or xbox 360 with dlna.

also what is the difference between commands airplay start/stop and airplay on/off in terminal??

Request: *fix for music being choppy with screen off
*SBsettings toggle for airplay on/off command. (hold on togle would query status of airplay.

For some reason, most repo mantainers screw up the file permissions while they're repackaging it

ON and OFF save your setting as a default so that it will be reapplied on reboot.

The first one is beyond my abilities, as I don't have the source of the main daemon.
About the second one, I've just bought a MBP and I'll downloading xCode in the next few days, so I may as well experiment...

Nope
If that worked I could just have removed the armv7 dependency... Even if you tried that it wouldn't work, and using the script would result in "bad CPU type in executable" errors.

Any reason this doens't work on 4.3.1? my iPad or iPhone doesn't show up (everything installed properly). On 4.2.1 everything worked fine.

EDIT: apparently set the ownership false my bad, works fine now! except iPad doesn't show up, is iPad supported?

Works perfect for me on iPhone 4.3.1 & iPad 4.3. Thanks a lot this is great! Would it be possible to make a SBSettings toggle or some one touch icon to turn this off and on? Forgive my ignorance, i'm not aware if this is even a possibility, but the launching of terminal and sudo then execute command is way too complex for my wife haha. Just need a way to simplify if possible. Thanks!

Unluckily I have a pretty poor knowledge of Objective C, but I might look into it in the future. Don't expect much, though.

The correct setting is read and write for owner user, read only for owning group and everyone else (world).
Launchd is picky.

Hello everyone!!

Thanks a lot for this tweak. It's working fine on my iPhone 4 firmware iOS 4.3.3.
However I have an issue : when listening to music, it seems that the sound is really lower and of poor quality (almost no bass) compared to when using the iPod app directly.
Is it just me or did anyone else notice this issue?

Stupid me!!! I was using "Sound enhancer" in iTunes. Disabled it and everything rocks now!
