Looks like I wont be getting the wife an iPhone for Christmas. Although the 4S is superior to the 4, it looks the exact same. They really need to update the screen to at least 4 inches. Not a huge deal for me, but for phone owners like my wife, it's a make or break deal. Since I purchased the white iPhone 4 earlier this year, I'll just wait it out until next year. I don't play too many graphic demanding games on my phone, so the upgraded graphics aren't that important to me, and the 2x faster processor is great, but I find the iPhone 4 to be fast enough for me. The iPhone 5 should blow the 4S out of the water. I certainly hope it has a bigger screen then the 4 and 4S.

Not dogging on the 4S, it's going to be a great phone. There's just not enough there to warrant me paying $600+ to buy it outside of my upgrade eligibility. Now if I was eligible for an upgrade, then by all means I would think about it. IOS5 on the 12th is what is exciting me right now. Looking forward to that.

edit: Looking at the prices listed, is that with upgrade eligibility, or without? $399 for 64gb ain't that bad. Might be able to talk the wife into getting that for me for Christmas, but then it'll be a real stretch to get the iPhone 5 next year, lol. Siri does sound cool, but still not really pulling the tide over me.

I guess no new iphone for me either.

The upgrades of the new 4S over my current iphone 4 are not enough for me to upgrade now. Its great to hear about a new camera, faster processor, screen graphics etc. but not enough for me to upgrade. Now i'm just looking forward to October 12 for iOS 5 which will be my new upgrade. I hope a jailbreak is out ASAP after the release.

Just like iPhone 4 blew iPhone 3GS out the water.

I'm eligible but will wait for iPhone 5.

I believe it is iPhone 4S dependent, but hopefully there'll be a cydia app for that :-P

Now I'm very curious.....Will the iPhone 5 drop in June/July, so soon after the iPhone 4S, or is it the start of a Sept/Oct iPhone release now? I guess only time will tell.

Please don't have a teardrop/ipod touch design......

Kinda disappointed that it's not the iPhone 5 but an upgrade instead. Looking forward to iOS 5 though!

I doubt it. Most likely it is hardware dependent like how voice control was for the 3GS.

Since I have two lines (both eligible for upgrade - one on iPhone 3G and 2nd on iPhone 4), I might get a refurb iPhone 4S when it's available and use it in place of my 3G.
