JW know you guys are busy but will there be a possible update to installing xbooks from the repo? the webclip itself wont show up now so it installs fine but there is no new icon to go to download the book

I am also facing the same issue. I have downloaded ibooks for IOS 5 app. But I couldn't see the webclip icon on my springboard.

iBooks fix is for iBooks app . It's not for installing iBooksfeom repo :-/..

yes i know this but how about xbooks installing like the 400 some on the repo you guys have that wont install on phones could you update how they get installed

Until that's fixed the books will be installed in /tmp. You can use iFile to import them into the iBooks app.

Apearntly you didnt hear me.. the fix on repo is for ibooks and the way sadam had mad the webclip install for ibooks via repo i doubt wrks on 4.3 or above so good luck :/

I just ran into this forum because of mij Google search, I am having the same problem so downgraded back to 4.3 in the past.
I would love to run IOS 5.0 but the problem with the webclips i encountered too. Is the above way the only way around the problem?

The newest version of Redsn0w and Snowbreeze JB's have fixed the iBooks problem so you shouldn't need to install the "iBooks Fix" package anymore.

The poster is referring to the xBooks problem, where the webapp installers don't appear on the springboard. That's a completely different issue, and is still not fixed.

Currently the only way I know of to get xBooks on iOS 5 is by finding them in /tmp and installing them using iFile.

I have just tested the X Books on a iPhone 3gs on firmware 5.0.1 jailbroken with redsn0w and there seems to be no problems with it at all.

I just tried installing an xBook on my iPhone 4 iOS 5, and still can't get the webclip to appear. Even after running the latest Redsn0w to fix the sandbox issue, I still have to install the ebook out of /tmp.

Edit: When I try to manually run URLClip, it outputs "Error: Can't find the icon to use!". Has something in the FS changed, so that EricaUtilities can't find the white icon?

Edit 2: Wow, found the problem. There needs to be an icon.png in /private/var/stash/Applications.5uVVBJ/MobileSafari.app, which has been removed from retina devices in recent iOS versions. That explains why it works on the 3GS, and not the iPhone 4.

The problem can be fixed by copying "icon@2x.png" in the same folder, and naming the duplicate "icon.png".

I was able to copy and rename the icon.png file and the webclip shows up now. But even after installing it through the web clip, nothing shows up in my iBooks, is anyone facing similar problem? I even tried using iFiles to install in my temp folder and the xbooks doesnt show up in my iBooks apps at all. I'm on 5.0.1 jb'ed with redsn0w b3.

It's working fine for me with the same specs, maybe you have something installed that's conflicting with iBook's import function.

Try entering safe mode using SBSettings before you open the webclip.
