i came across some DVDA albums i wanted to rip and put on my ipod nano but seems iTunes doesnt support ogg.

is there a specific add-on i can get through Cydia that will allow the iphone4 (ios 5) to play the format? i wanted to rip these DVDAs to ogg 5.1 and be able to SSH and stash them on the iPhone and be able to play them either through a seperate app or within the built in iPod app.

You could get VLC. It use to be in the app store but they got rid of it. But you might be able to get off apptrackr/installous.

Once you get VLC just SSH (iFunbox or whatever) the videos into the documents folder of VLC.

well its not videos its music. i ripped the music off the DVD-Audio albums into ogg 5.1 and want to be able to play them on the iPhone.
i read on a specs sheet that my 6th gen iPod Nano can play ogg but i dont see how thats possible when iTunes cant even read the files. so i was hoping there was a way to just SSH into the iphone and stash them there with a player or extension of some sort thatd allow playback of the songs. sure i can just rip them to mp3s but they sound better when in 5.1 surround through earphones.

Don't know about iPod Nano sorry.

VLC plays any video/music format that I have ever come across. It's not just videos. Sorry for not clearing that up before.

yea its strange how its advertised as being compatible with ogg but iTunes isnt..so i dont see how you could even get an ogg audio file onto the ipod.

ill try that then. wasnt sure if VLC would just play one individual track or would allow for a playlist.
