A few hours ago, we told you that Corona 5.0.1 Untether jailbreak was updated to v1.0-7 to include planetbeing’s iBooks image loading bugs fix. Corona v1.0-7 failed to work on the iPhone 4S running iOS 5, so it has been updated once again to fix that problem.

Saurik informs us that ALL jailbroken iOS users should install this updated ( iPhone 4S/iPad 2 users included ) except “old bootrom” iPhone 3GS users. You can find Corona in Cydia….

As other posters I have just put absinthe onto iPhone 4s today, do I need to install Corona 5.0.1 and why?

Cheers

Anyone one that used te redsnow jailbreak should install this or they can rerun the new redsnow jailbreak tool when it comes out. There's no difference.

Anyone with the iPad 2 or iPhone 4S jailbreak I don't think you should use this. You can try and see but not sure what will happen.

Just to clarify this one for everyone who's equally puzzled like I was: In the package description in Cydia it is explained quite detailed but long story short:

Anyone EXCEPT old-bootrom 3GS users with any untethered jailbroken 5.0.1 device, no matter what way you have put the JB on your device (Absinthe, Cydia-Corona-Package, CLI, etc., they all deliver the same underlying corona exploit just by different means) can and should (over-)install this one on their devices. And to save you from reading, yes, even if Cydia shows the package as not yet installed!
Nuff said.
Best, CV

EDIT: Just saw Betabots comment (Too fast for me ;-) ) and by my own experience I can verify it works on the iPad2 as well... and from this post of Saurik himself on Twitter: Quote: "Corona 1.0-8: @sbingner noticed that 1.0-6/7 failed on iPhone 4S 5.0 (the only supported 5.0 build; absinthe's Corona had worked): fixed. :(" it's clear that it is intended for the 4S as well...

It somehow caused my iPhone 4 to be unable to attain any phone signals.

I uninstalled it, causing my phone to continuously reboot. Probably due to removal of jailbreak?

However, I restored my iPhone and re-jailbroke it using the latest Redsnow, and my iPhone is now all better. iBooks is also fixed.
