i keep trying to install 3.0 onto my ipod 1g and keep getting error 10. What am i doin wrong?

How to put ipod touch 2nd gen on sleep mode while playing a video from the songs list? I just bought the 2nd gen ipod touch, and i was wondering how i can put it to sleep while i played a video from the songs list.
