I didn't manage to copy one of the files so I downloaded the grabber from difrnt and it worked. Now trying to work out how to get my ECID number :?

I anyone else able to download the 3gs firmware, when I download it, i get a zip file, are we suppose to rename that to .ipsw?

Sounds like your not going into dfu mode.

thx but it was saying it was in dfu mode in botton right of my pc well w/e finally got it with grabber.exe i think....

Just a heads up for everyone...
I used the "iBec & iBSS Grabber" and it got the iBec and iBSS whilst just restoring in DFU mode.

I think I know where some people are going wrong with trying to grab the iBSS file as I had a blonde 30 mins trying to get it.

Firstly download ‘iBEC and iBSS Grabber’ from: http://difrnt.com/blog/?p=25

Now here is where I went wrong… The instructions aren’t that clear so I stupidly set the save directory in ‘iBEC and iBSS Grabber’ to the temp directory.

What you need to do is run ‘iBEC and iBSS Grabber’ and set the save directory to something like C:/DFU.

Then simply boot your phone into DFU mode, restore and let ‘iBEC and iBSS Grabber’ do the work. Go to the C:/DFU folder and both iBEC and iBSS should be sat there waiting for you.
