ok, so I think it's a good thing to keep... :-)

I don't use it and importing contacts is a one time thing so once done i guess u can remove it if its use is that, try to test it try importing contacts with the deamon disabled and once with it enabled we can be for sure then.

hey can someone ping one of the admins, reply posts are posting somewhere else not next to one which it supposed to be...

okay guys i did a fresh restore and took out the graphicservices.sample.plist
this time, it didn't crash my ipod music player and so far, it's working fine without it
i don't know what caused mine to crash but i think it's safe to take this plist out

---------- Post added at 12:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:12 AM ----------

com.apple.mobile.obliteration.plist seems to be used for "Remote Wipe via Exchange" or "a wipe from using Settings > General > Reset" (source from http://code.google.c...bileObliterator)
if you don't use these features, maybe it is safe to get rid of this plist too
i'll try and see what happens

---------- Post added at 12:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:20 AM ----------

also, beware of erasing language files (.lproj)
for 2 times when i did erase language files of most of the apps, i had problems
first time was when i updated iFile from cydia; it rebooted during the update and after the reboot, i could not open cydia. It would just quit at "loading data"
second time was when i had my problem of mobilemusicplayer and the video app quitting when opened

both of these times were when i erased the language files
after restore, i did not erase the language files and now it seems that taking out graphicservices.sample.plist won't do anything

---------- Post added at 12:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:25 AM ----------

also, com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist seems to be about Bonjour (source http://www.felipe-al...mac-os-x-tiger/) don't know if it is the same but i'll try disabling it too since i don't use bonjour

---------- Post added at 12:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 AM ----------

for ipod touches, you might not need com.apple.datamigrator.plist
i think it's for iphone transfering data from and to SIM card

lol your iphone already boots fast
**** lol

---------- Post added at 12:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:42 AM ----------

com.apple.aslmanager.plist seems to be system log file manager (source http://www.macfixit....090122213555897)
gonna try deleting it since we already took out syslogd

---------- Post added at 12:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:43 AM ----------

and finally, com.apple.aggregated.plist seems to be related with audio-in functions (source http://www.apple.com...aggregateaudio/)
i'll try deleting it since i'm an ipod touch

Lol I was really stupid with getting rid of mDNSresponder plists
don't disable them; no Internet will result lmao

---------- Post added at 01:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:59 AM ----------

Here is the current result for taking out all those plists
max ram when I reboot: 50mb

mobilesubstrate plug ins:
backgrounder
mailtoattachment
mobilestack
preferenceloader
reflective dock
rotation inhibitor
spotbright
winterboard
mQuickdo
wbs

I think this result is actually very good.
Will report when there's any problem

I still wondering what the hell com.apple.stackshot.server and com.apple.tcpdump.server do...

I'll add of my personal list of removable daemons also com.apple.aslmanager.plist and com.apple.datamigrator.plist since I don't need to iport data from sim

I'll report any news... :-)

Wow Great Work Guys.. Am posting as new reply i.e., without quotes caz am hoping this would work as all my replies are going somewhere irregular sorry abt tht, i think it has something to do with me not closing this tab or the browser or watevr.. (really trying not to think abt it :icon_hang:) if this is happening to anyone else then someone pls ping our lovely admins to hav a look.

Ok first things first do not delete mdnsresponder ur net will stop working in the sences new websites wont open other than the ones in dsn cache its a pain also this could be a really big problem if ssh wont connect if its dependent on mdnsresponder (not sure if it is or not). nyways everyone trying these experiments i advice to have ifile also installed (just to be on safeside), so if anythin happens and ssh is down it would be easy to fix (keepin options open)

now i tried deleting the lproj i think its only gives you a problem if u delete the lproj files iphone is currently configured to use for eg. my lang is set to english (uk) and the language filename for it was not english.lproj althou would sound right for it to be the file ( the english ref. to ppl of uk ;) lol, nyways the file is uk.lproj so i set it to english (am) before delting all other lproj except english.lproj to test a theory of one of we guys who suggested it might be faster it dint work no difference in speed or mem usage. now if i ever did a reset all settings and my lang setback to english(uk) i think i might have a problem but untill then i would probably restore all the lang files from backup location right now preety lazy to do that.

now i think not all of 57 deamons are loaded into the memory at boot or just start to check a condition and close i think obliterator is one such a file nvr the less i am going to delete it to chk if its gonna speedup boot time.

ok am deleting graphicservices.sample again.. lol. ;)

1 more thing who ever has disabled datamigrator pls confirm if everythin on ur phone is working fine..

And here's some good news: i got the deamons down to 36 (36/57) am still testing n restoring a deamon if anythin's not working or something goes wrong but i have a list ready just making sure i give a couple of days use before i post it to prevent someone implementing it in haste and system gets screwed. just wait for a couple of days would put it up soon.

Ok guys we rock keep experimenting...

SHIT POST SCREWED UPAGAIN!!! SOMEONE SHOOT ME OR PUT THE POSTS IN RIGHT ORDER :killer:

This is great, it actually works. But I got one question, should i delete com.rockyourphone.daily.plist? I barely use rock your phone's app at all D:

Edit: After the experiment, in rebooted my iphone and it sayed 20mb free. I guess i use too much ram >_> I need a 3GS

How do you have 53mb free? Highest I get is 46mb. My springboard also takes up a lot of ram too.
