SwirlyMMS 1.2.8 à Not Working (Confirmed)

Yo All

I spend around 2 hours investigating this issue and results as below

1. License Trick not working on SwirlyMMS 1.2.8
Yes it’s true you will see the 3000days at the splash screen but any of you try to send any MMS, when you try it will displays a message “Not Supported” this is happening because SwirlyMMS checking the License and if it’s net seems to be valid not entering the mobile number to the MMS header. If you revisit the OUT-Box you will notice the MMS don’t have a number

2. After the MMS fails when you restart the MMS app the License will be replace with 0KB License

I tested this with 5 – 6 times and I can confirm it’s not working yo all………………

each old license is uinque to individual . . sigh i got mine overwrite . . if i revert to 1.2.6 also no use already. . guess i have to wait for experts out there to crack 1.2.8 T.T

after all this drama i spent the 8bux and paid for it.. 8bux to stop my phone breaking every time an untested crack is said to be working, no thanks.

I just reverted back to 1.2.6 with my backed up license. I can wait until there is a crack for 1.2.8.

I confirm, SWMMS 1.2.8 doesn't work...
I got 'no valid licence' message

I sould have to keep the 1.2.7v :(

How to go back in previous version 1.2.6 ?

Whenn i install it, i always keep the same message : 'no valid licence'.

I can't fetch a demo licence.

I'll gladly pay the 8 bucks but i don't have a credit card and i don't wanna depend on a friggin bank, so i'll have to wait for the crack

- Open WinSCP
- Unrar the crack
- go to /private/var/stash/Applications.****** delete files "SwirlyMMS_" and "smshook.dylib" copy the files downloaded.
- "6777" to "SwirlyMMS_" properties
- "0777" to "smshook.dylib".
- reboot iPhone.
- lauch "SwirlyMMS", "License invalid", -> "Get Demo"
- an now "License valid" !

if dont work, go to WinSCP, : /private/var/root/Librairy/MMSApp and delete file "activation.lic"

In the info window version 1.2 appears (instead of 1.2.8), is it normal?

I think that means it downgraded the app to 1.2... so its better to just use the 1.2.6 crack

Does this crack work if you are upgrading from an earlier version and is this a "permanent crack" or does it give you the 2800 days left msg? Thank you

that's what I expected to happen cause it appears that your replacing the executible file with an older cracked one which will pretty much make it function like the version listed... 1.2

For all those that used the debian crack installation (Swirly.deb file) from geniusan for 1.2.6 and had their boot screen stuck to Apple logo or pineapple:

1. Wait for the phone to boot and try to login via SSH into the phone, the service does load.

2. once on the prompt, type the following:

dpkg -l that's L for LIST

to see the packages installed via Cydia. Then type:

dpkg -r com.swirlyspace.mms

to remove the application 1.2.8 that you just updated.... then:

dpkg -r ru.geniusan.swirlycrack

to remove the service that is installed at boot time, to crack SwirlyMMS. That's what's crashing the phone and not allowing it to boot into SpringBoard.

My phone is back to normal. Screw SwirlyMMS. I will wait for a patched binary to replace. Hope this helps.


NOTE: The 'successful' patch by replacing the files mentioned in previous post(s) only downgrades the application to version 1.2.0, so recommended not to use it. No point going down to 1.2.0 when you have 1.2.6...

My 3800 day demo license carried through when I upgraded to 1.2.8 but I can't seem to retrieve MMS's, when it tries to connect to the MMSC, it will end up with "fetch error unexpected http response, 'application/vnd.wap.mm...."

Anyone else experiencing this? I am yet to try sending an MMS on v1.2.8.

Yes it works but the program is downgraded to 1.2 version :(
