Finally updated to 3.1.2 and i needed my mcleaner so i gave this a try even though people said it doesnt work on 3.1.2, well what do you know it worked great on my 3GS :)
Something i would like to point out though is that I did try the method described in this post first but i quickly found that it did not work correctly. After that i tried the gdb method and i was successful :)
1) Download [B]Putty[/B]
1a) If you dont have [B]SSH[/B] on your Iphone Install it ([B]OpenSSH[/B]) from [B]Cydia[/B]
2) Install [B]GNU Debugger[/B] from [B]Cydia[/B]
3) Connect to iphone from putty using ssh protocol
login [B]root[/B]
password [B]alpine[/B]
4) run [B]gdb[/B] (to run simply type "gdb" and then press enter)
5) next copy and paste the following commands (to do this just highlight the commands below and then to paste into putty you just right click in the putty window, "ctrl+v" will not work):
break *0x00003320
break *0x00003348
commands 1
silent
print $r4
set $pc=0x3328
continue
end
commands 2
silent
printf "\n\n\nSERIAL:%c%c%c%c%c%c%c%c! ENJOY!\n\n\n",$1,$2,$3,$4,$5,$6,$7,$8
end
attach -waitfor MCleaner
after you paste those commands, press enter and wait a few seconds
6) Run [B]Mcleaner[/B] on your iphone
7) type [B]continue[/B] in [B]Putty[/B] (you must type continue in order for Mcleaner to continue loading on your iphone, if not it will look like its hanging, it's not! just type continue)
8) wait for [B]Mcleaner[/B] to load on your iphone (wait for it to get past the splash screen)
9) Click [B]Buy[/B] and [B]Activate[/B]
10) Type serial [B]00000000[/B] (8 zeros) in Mcleaner on your iphone and press ok/enter (not in putty)
11) look in [B]Putty[/B] and you will see your serial (should say congratulations or something similar)
12) close [B]gdb[/B] (type quit and then type "y" when it asks if you are sure; you must do this in order for mcleaner to properly close on your iphone!)
13) Close [B]Mcleaner[/B] and open it again
14) Click [B]Buy[/B] and [B]Activate[/B] and type new serial you got from putty, enjoy!
