That is because I didn't install openSSH or any other SSH software before cydia started acting funny (it crashes everytime it's opened).
I noticed that its doing this after I installed the nimbuzz software from the apple app store.
HELP Please!

CAUTION!
Be careful with this I tried it with ipodTouch2, all I can say is I am not very happy at the moment. The problem could be my device specific though.

but doesnt that reinstall all the software packages and rejailbreaks your phone? Isn't there a better way to do that.
Or can we install Installer.app for version 3.0 and install openSSH through that. If so, then whats the link for that?

found the solution to the cydia issues;
download this software:
http://modmyi.com/fo...istcache-31887/
it clears the cache list and lets cydia run again. nothing else required. It solved my problems and might help others too!
