hi treason - thanks for trying so hard to develop this app - we highly appreciate it :) though i still have the same problem, i am not receiving the sms i am sending when using treasonsms though it appears in the conversation - both in the browser and the stock messages.app - also, my new contacts does not appear in the browser (firefox 3.5.1)

- very big improvement with 1.0.8. loving it more :) i am on prepaid sim and though i don't receive the sms as i have said, it does charge.

- i am not getting errors in the ff error console but i do have warnings - 4 of them actually when i loaded treasonsms

In FF< go to tools, error console. Click clear then load treasonSMS.
Look at the error console window to see if you get errors.

Also, are you using the lastest deb i posted? 1.0.8? or are you using the old 1.0.2 on the repo?

I need feedback so I can fix this, it's not happening on either of my phones.

Hey Several,

The first two sound like warnings, while the last one might be an error. Does it have a red X or a yellow !

If it has a yellow ! then it's nothing... I am very curious to know whether the server is having problems sending the SMS data or if the browser is having a hard time interpreting that data. The only way to know for sure is to install the firebug extension in FF https://addons.mozil...efox/addon/1843 then click the bug in the lower right, and select console, then hit the little refresh icon in treasonSMS (lower left hand corner)

It should say something like POST http://192.168.1.108:8080/ if you click that it should say under POST something like action=getphone&key=a4a1dda1-166d-47b0-8f31-a8581466da46&phone=2125555555, And lastly click response and you should see something like: ||?||2||?||20||?||124355555550||-||2009-08-02 23:15:06||?||Lol ||?||3||?||20

This will help me debug the problem since I can't recreate it. Hopefully one of the people with this error can do this for me.

You can try to install Insomnia, but it eats your battery

Sorry dude I don't have opera installed and I never tested with that browser. Only FF3.5, IE8 and safari

I think 3G is firewalled by AT&T. Thats also why you can't SSH from 3G

you can trigger this action by hitting the refresh button, in the lower left of the SMS entry box.

This means that the data is not being sent from the iphone to the browser. Otherwise the response would be there. What language is your phone in?

I don't know if this is possible but can you send me your SMS.db file? I can copy it to my phone to attempt to replicate the error. The SMS.db is in /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS/ you would have to use WinSCP to copy it.

Make sure you send it via private message.

this sounds like a great app but I can see a flaw. Wi-Fi shuts off during sleep and if you keep the phone from sleeping to keep Wi-Fi on you'll kill your battery quickly. It seems to me this would be ideal in a work scenario where you can keep your phone charging and also text as if using an IM client. It sounds like there are still a few kinks to work out but keep up the good work!

And you want a free ton of work put into it? Opensource it, and I'll replace the whole sending all the SMS with ajax-esqe and port it to a SBSettings item (which it should be)

finally received an sms using treasonsms though i have two small issues:

- it was successful when the phone number starts with a '0' as in 0917xxxxxxx, i have contacts with international numbers so i listed them with country codes as in +63 or +966 for example - could you please make it work for numbers starting with a '+'?

- for the future, hopefully its possible to create a new message for a new contact i.e., not in the address book.
