i have another personal one with maps which only HAS Provinces of Britsh Columbia and Alberta, i travel back and forth between those provinces so thats all i need...

these maps were from Navigon 1.0 i dont know if the maps were changed/updated for 1.1 and if there are any Canadian maps made for 1.1

if anyone wants it, i will upload it

I downloaded this and it included maps for Ireland, Lichtenstein (sp?), and Denmark.

I would like to download maps for just a few states local to me. I have a Garmin in the car for any trips that are not local to me. The general surrounding area would be nice just to have on my phone though.

New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Deleware, and Maryland.

I should just be able to download and copy the .map files into the payload folder and drag the .ipa into itunes right?

ya . that worked for me fine.

i noticed there are folders for all Europe countries inside, maybe those should be deleted also ! not sure

This is the Europe version but i thought i took out all the maps..

SORRY about that..

there should be another thread on here with maps to download.. i will reup and remove ALL maps this time...

Is it possible to replace the Europe logo-icon with the US logo icon? I was able to get the one changed in itunes but not on my iphone by SSH into the phone. If you could point me to the correct file I would appreciate it, I'm using a mac.

I found the 1.1 version located some Address Book locations version 1.0 couldn't. I found this strange since they are the same maps.

The following is the instruction for getting NAVIGON Europe 1.1.0 (New Version) in your Jailbroken Iphone 3G running 3.0. The following instructions are useful only if you have the first version of Navigon (NAVIGON 1.0.0) with you.

1. Locate the ipa file of the first version of Navigon (Navigon 1.0.0) in your computer.
2. Make a copy of the same, this is done for safety reasons (in case if any thing goes wrong)
3. Change the extension of the file which you copied from .ipa to .zip (you should have winzip in your computer to open this file)
4. Open the zip file and locate the files which have .map as their extension, those file will be having the name of the country as its file name, eg: United Kingdom.map, France.map etc.
5. Copy all those files to another location (if you don’t want all the maps you can select the particular map and copy it, which will save you a lot of space in your iphone)
6. Now you have to download the file from the following link, which is the latest version of Navigon but without any maps.

7. After downloading the above file repeat the 2nd and 3rd steps and then open the file.
8. Drag and drop the copied .map file/files (which we copied in the step 5) from its location into the new zip file.
9. After the completion of copying close the file and change its extension from .zip to .ipa.
10. Then just open the file using itunes and sync it with your iphone. Enjoy your own Navigon 1.1.0

simply load the program in your phone, go into Winscp and find the Navigon App directory under APPS, take any *.map file out and then put yours in, WALA you are set I did this for texas with 1.1 and works great

I tried this with the Australia map and I get a blank map. The program works and says what street I'm on but there is no map view?

BTW, I got the AUS map from the lite free version. Will that make a difference?

How Do I get it working? Is there another file I have to edit? Do I have to rename the AUS map file ?

Does the reality view work with this version? the RealityView_NA.nfs, and sat_NA.nfs files are missing. Does that mean it realityview doesn't work?

Also how do you get rid of the annoying pop-up that asks NA or EU maps?

remove either all NA or EU maps

you can SSH into your phone, or remove the app from your phone..

locate the .ipa file

change .ipz extension to .zip
unpack it
navigate to,
payload>navigon.app
copy over the .map files you need
rezip the file
change the extension back from .zip to .ipa

delete the old file from itunes, reload the new ipa into itunes and resync

It is *much* faster to move the .map files out of the 1.0 Navigon folder, install the 1.1 nomaps ipa AS IS, and simply move the maps back into the new folder.

I'm curious though to see if installing 1.1 over 1.0 will retain existing maps. I don't have the patience to test it right now in the event that it doesn't, so has anyone tried this?
