is it possible (i know how, but will it work) to download uk version, then add maps from igo amigo (or igo 8) for windows mobile (i need croatia, slovenia and italy). are there any problems with license when i do that

Has anyone bothered to try this? I installed this morning and am already planning on removing it as soon as I finish downloading Navigon 1.1.0. I absolutely love iGo 8 on Windows Mobile Devices but they really dropped the ball on the iPhone version.

TBH I can't believe the standard of the iPhone Nav apps, none of them are worth more than £10 IMO. Sygic had the best functionality but is useless due ot the lag, I need to know about turnings before I get to them, not afterwards. iGo should have had all of the Sygic functons and more but as they used Amigo as the basis it will be a losing battle.

I haven't been able to test iGO on the road but the interface sucks to me. It doesn't follow iPhone standards at all. It looks like a crappy port from the (already ugly) Windows Mobile version to me. I personally don't like the map display, either. It has a setting for skins but there are no alternatives available but the default ones for night and day (a feature which doesn't work automatically for me). It has some nice gimmicks like the non-existant alternative skins and also aibility to exchange the arrow cursor signalling your position for stuff like Hot Rods, Bicycles, People or Flying Carpets and so on. Functionality may also (hopefully) be very good but I'm waiting for someone to extensively test it. For now I agree: Sygic appears to be best but is simply unusable due to 100-200m lag in Western Europe. Navigon actually works quite well but it has so little features and extras that makes it really boring and somewhat cheap. It looks excellent, though, and follows iPhone design rules most closely of all mentioned apps.

Well, I'm polish so I renamed ipa to zip and removed 3d models and maps from other countries and make the package containing Poland map and basemap only.

but after successful installation iGo dosen't work. after opening it from icon it crashes 3secs after splash screen.

people who made UK ver only removing other maps - do you have some suggestions for this issue?

I deleted the extra maps, buildings, poi, voices, and langs but it does not work. What did you remove exactly?

Could you please tell me which files I must delete in order for the .ipa to work. Do I have to change a configuration file? I removed the files from folders: building, dem, lang, and map but the ipa crashes on install. I installed the full version successfully so I know that it is something I did wrong.

No I have a 3G and it works fine. Perhaps they have not added 3D landmarks for your country. To find out if there is any 3D object for your country go to Settings->Content->3D Landmarks and search through the list to find your country. Notice also that only landmarks and large mountains are 3D, so don't expect to see every building and hill in 3D.
