Please don't mirror these files on other sites, if any of the link is down PM me.
This skin is ported without permission. The author never responded to my requests.
__________________________________________________________
Major Update (v2.0)

I have done a major revision to this skin, download from here:
Skin with High Quality Voice audio -
http://www.4shared.c...kin_V20-HQ.html
mirror: http://www.mediafire...wlmncyijurn/Igo My Way iPhone Modded Skin V2.0-HQ.zip
Skin with Low Quality voice audio -
http://www.4shared.c...kin_V20-LQ.html
mirror: http://www.mediafire...tzlvm2ddtgg/Igo My Way iPhone Modded Skin V2.0-LQ.zip

I am including two versions of the skin, one with HQ voice files and other with LQ voice files. Other than the audio files, every aspect of the two version are the same. If you have loading time issues (3g users), try the LQ version. I don't know if it helps or not (if it doesn't help at all, I will forgo the LQ version in the next iteration).

Changelog for V2.0
- Complete rewrite of skin settings pages to be more clear and Iphone friendly.
- Complete rewrite of distance based functions added by my skin; all skin added distance based functions are now compliant with the Measurement Unit system selected by user within iGo.
- Complete rewrite of "Adding your own Speedcam" function under "Show Map" in Quickmenu; previous iteration is not compliant with locations where the Continental Speed Unit is in mph (ie USA).
----- Users who like to add speedcams to their database via skin please read the note below about CONTINENTAL SPEED UNIT

- A lot of GUI fixes
----- When Hand Icon is shown and Quick Menu is selected, the Quick Menu will not overlap the Hand Icon
----- Long Click on the Quick Menu now does the appropriate things
----- All settings that depend on another setting now will not enable itself without the dependent master setting being enabled.
----- The glitches in the 3 info buttons on the bottom left corner of the cockpit is fixed.
----- ...a bunch of others, but can't remember all.
- Removed USA POI branding icons. The branding icons will be decoupled to Branding.gro (as in v1.5c) and will be updated separately.

***IMPORTANT NOTES***
Continental Speed Unit (and Speedcam Database) - A new parameter called "Continental Speed Unit" is added under Speedcam Settings. This parameter is ESSENTIAL to Speedcam Visual and Voice warnings working properly. Please set this unit to whatever your country uses as the Speed Limit unit system (ie if you're in the USA, use mph). This setting only tells iGO how to READ and WRITE to the Speedcam Database and is independent of the Measurement unit setting you want "Displayed" on iGo which is found under "Regional".

In other words, for example, if you live in the USA and you want IGO to speak and display Speed Limits in km/h, you would set the Measurement Unit to km under "Regional Settings" BUT you would still set Continental Speed Unit under "Speedcam Settings" to mph.

The reason that you have to do this is because IGO is hardcoded to read speed limits in mph in countries where the standard speed unit is in mph. I cannot change this in the skin, I can only work around it. I tried to dummy proof the skin code by reading the gps location to set the Continental Speed Unit automatically but I cannot get the code to work properly. For now, please set the "Continental Speed Unit" parameter yourself manually.

For USA users, I have a fully working Speedcam database here (please delete the older version you may have):
http://www.4shared.c...ed_Skin_V2.html
mirror: http://www.mediafire...nd52hzzzmni/USA Speedcam Database for use with Igo iPhone Modded Skin V2.zip

As usual, please report any bug or problem you have on this thread. Either I or other helpful users are here to help.

Test Build (v1.5c)

3g users who are interested in faster load time, please try this out:
http://www.4shared.c..._Skin_v15c.html

What's new:
- Decoupled POI branding icons to branding.gro
- Compressed every artwork and audio allowable

Please see if loading times are better with and without the branding.gro. Please provide feedback. I think it does load faster on my 3gs but it could just be my perception.

Additionally, please let me know if there is any artwork corruption or any anomaly from previous builds. I cannot test everything on this build.

__________________________________________________________
Update (v1.5)

Sorry to leave eveyone hanging. I didn't mean to do that.

Update link:
http://www.4shared.c...d_Skin_v15.html

What's new:
- QWERTY keyboard
- Resampled Audio (attempt to fix 3g user issue)

To 3g users,
The original thread has been deleted and I don't remember the users who reported the audio issue. I just assume the audio issue has to do with processor speed or memory so I down sampled the audio by half. If this still doesn't fix the problem, please report back.

Notes on Speedcam database

Place the speedcam database in spud format into this directory
/private/var/mobile/Applications/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxx/Library/Caches/content/speedcam/

xxx-xxx-xxx...is the directory where you Igo app is stored.

The USA database can be downloaded here:
http://www.4shared.c...camUpdates.html

For users outside USA, if you download a speedcam.txt from online sources, you need to convert the speedcam.txt file into spud format with this tool:
http://www.4shared.c...c/spud2txt.html

BUT, before converting the txt, you need to re-categorize the speedcam category from the Igo default format to the skin's format. The convention is as follows:

Igo's Default Speedcam Category (in downloaded speedcam.txt)
Type 1 = fixed camera
Type 2 = redlight + speed
Type 3 = redlight
Type 4 = section
Type 5 = mobile

Skin's Speedcam Category (when translated using spud2txt)
Type 1 = fixed camera
Type 2 = mobile
Type 3 = toll-payment
Type 4 = section
Type 5 = toll-ticket
Type 6 = redlight
Type 7 = redlight + speed

SO FOR EXAMPLE, to convert Mobile Camera, you would open up the speedcam.txt file in WordPad, and replace all ,5, with ,2,

Notes on POI icons

The skin file already included about 500 POI icons for the USA-Canada locale.

If for any reason, you'd prefer the default POI icons you can simply overwrite the POI.icons with the default one. This file found under \ui_igo_iphone\icons\poi\ when you unpack data.gro.

Data.gro converter tool:
http://www.mediafire.com/?k3mzyllojxj

For user who would like to add additional POI icons, the following is a summary of steps you need to do:
1. Create a 32x32 bmp file of the icon (I think it can be as big as 37x37)
2. Place the bmp into \ui_igo_iphone\common\ and \ui_igo_iphone\common\night\
3. Edit POI.icons in \ui_igo_iphone\icons\poi\ to reference the bmp file you added. Follow the syntax found in the POI.icons file in my skin as example.

Or you can simply reference it this way (using xxx.bmp as example):
[xxx]
$xxx.bmp
(This method will not reference the icon to a particular POI by default, but you can create the reference using the POI management tool inside the skin)

with this skin, iGo keeps searching for satellites and does not ask for the "Use Location" permission on startup. anyone know how to fix that?

Deshwasi,

If you're using an early version of popup blocker (found on this site), it does not handle location popups properly.

And if you're using Jetmouse's generic Igo license, this popup will appear every time you use the app. This is a bug with JM's crack, it doesn't auto allow after two approvals like other apps.

If this is true, then the only thing you can do is either uninstall popup blocker or get the latest version which does handle location popups properly.

This is not an issue with the skin. Hope this helps.

Hi Chung,

I have a question, I trimmed down iGO with five states, US voices only, but iGO still takes long time to boot up.
Is there way to cut boot up time?

Thanks.

Minimoto,

I have a hunch that it is because the data.gro is much bigger now. What I can do is put the poi icons into branding.gro to see if that helps (and users can also choose not to use the branding.gro).

I'll try this in the next update.

The load time is not noticeably longer on my 3gs, but I can tell that it did took longer to boot up.

I just put up a test build with decoupled data and branding plus a lot of compression.

3g users please let me know whether it helps with loading time.

No, you're talking about reducing processor time on default calculations, this is not possible. The skin only does enable functions that are available in the Igo app that is not enabled by Igo themselves.

If you find the route recalculation is getting too slow, then maybe we'd enabled too many functions at the same time. You can try to disable some that you don't need or you may have to go back to the vanilla skin.

Or may be Igo can make optimizations in future revisions... But this is definitely not doable by just modding the skin.

Ic, I'll have to take a look at how that is done on igo8. Is there a particular skin that has this function?

Sorry, I'm not sure what differentiate GCC maps.

Best thing to do is try and if you see any anomaly just take a screenshot.

Such a great improvement for iGO, it shows what is really possible with navigation on the iPhone.

Is working quite fine also with european version.

Just came back from short business trip from SF. I was in SF, in rent-a-car, tried to use iGO8, but I was using v1.5, boot time was nearly 4 min :( then still have to wait for Satelite, so in real world I couldn't use iGO to navigate to Hotel to location I needed to work. I had to use TomTom in rent-a-car.

Anyway I am back to home, and just replace with 1.5c, it boots up in less than 2 minites :) which is good sign!

looks like I will be using iGO again, thanks Chung! B)

find where your iGO was installed, its under /var/mobile/App directory, I think.
/var/mobile/Applications/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxx/

xxxxxxxxxx is your iGO installed directory

then rename your original data.gro to data.bak.gro, put 1.5c version of data.gro file there. also do the same to sys.txt
