Hi,
Even if BiteSMS is Still installed, this package works.

First of all, thoses independent .deb files you gave still asked for the ldid (Link Identity Editor)package to be able to be installed, and once i imputed the source and installed, it worked but first disconected my SIM card, so what's up with that ?
do u have any idea of what exactly it modifies ? or is it up to us to trust you ?
PS: the link identity editor of ur source is old, and needed updating by cydia

The phone makes a sound if the delivery was succesful and it shows a red ! when the message was not sent, I think this is pointless..

well, ok ... i must admit, at least it works. Fully tested it out and all, both Delivery and Flash delivery work !
And for everyone's info i have a 3GS 3.0
PS: i'll never be using it though, i just don't see the point ... once a text has been sent, well ... it's been sent. don't need another text telling me what i've just done.

What you are describing is the message sent notification.
The delivery notification in this thread reports if the sms is actually delivered.

what u are talking about is the sent notification.... So that sound means that the SMS is sent but may be it's still pending..... With this great app u get a notification when it's delivered to the other mobile.... Got it???

I thought English is the language we all must use when posting in this forum.
If you don't like an app, then simply don't use it.

sms delivery report is network dependent and the codes r vary. *n# or *0# or *z#... how does this app know what network we r on and what code supported by the network?

Just to be clear, this only works if you have a french carrier?

according to this scenario there should be a switch in the settings to choose the right code for our operator.

First off, most of what was said in French only refered to personal opininons that mainly concerned only our two parties, and were frankly quite irrevelant to the rest of you.
Second, sometimes people aquire things just to make others jealous ... Which for this particular "tweak", is the case. But it might well just be because I like having the choice of either using it or not; even though I know I won't ... well u just never know, do u.

I might be completely wrong, but that might be what the Link Editor dependancy is for. To get it, just make sure u instal using the source given in the very first topic (although, that's the only one that worked for me, so I'd say stick to it)

Well, I know one benefit from this feature which is that if the phone that you sent an SMS to is switch off, then Delivery report will let you know when the phone got switched on! You might say and then!!
I will tell you, this is good if your lover :hooray: is travelling on airplane so once they arrive and switch their phone ON, you will be the first one to call them! how did you know they switch their phone ON>>>> Using Delivery Report!! LOOOOL:hooray: you see? Isn't it better than keeping calling them to check whether the phone is ON or still OFF!!
Thanks
By the way, it works great with BiteSMS with leatest beta 4.3 beta 4, i tested myself with Vodafone UK SIM.

No, It tells you that the recipient has received your SMS in their phone!
It is not necessary that your SMS has been delivered to the recipient! The recipient might not have signal!! Or their phone is switched off, so this tells you when they recieved the SMS NOT when you sent it!!
