holy crap, i was just asking for this yesterday, i love you, about to test it out!!

i'll edit this post later to make it somehow less useless hehe

EDIT:
so i had the trial version of mywi installed (latest version, same as this) and when i installed over it said "setting up mywi....dilyb exists! plist exists!" so i figured it was still installed correctly bc it didnt give any errors but just to make sure i uninstalled mywi and installed the cracked deb again
it still said the same thing but it seems to be working fine... im just wondering if i should uninstall and delete the plist and dylib manually and then reinstall? or am i fine like this?

EDIT: okay so i decided to uninstall rockapp after having no need for it since this crack and the intelliscreen crack no longer require it, but it seems i hit a snag.

after i uninstalled rockapp and rockextensions, mywi works fine EXCEPT that it no longer shows your up/down data usage, instead of the usual "mywi tethering down: xxxmb up: xxmb" it now simply says "internet tethering"

now mind you this isnt a biggie, but i use that feature alot so i investigated further to get it back.

i tried finding the dylib and plist that i mentioned earlier with no luck, ive no idea where it installs or what gets left behind when i uninstall so trying to start fresh and seeingif i get the data counter back didnt work
.
next i tried installing JUST rock extensions from the xsellize repo (the official one makes you install rockapp, blah) and then my phone would not stop respringing.. but a hard reset set it right.

opened mywi and my data counter was back, so i've concluded that rock extensions is somehow tied to the data counter feature of mywi.

i've installed rockapp to get my data counter back for now... does anyone else notice they dont have a data counter if they dont have rockapp/extensions installed?

This program turns your iPhone Data Connection INTO A WIFI HOTSPOT!!

Just load up the program, and anything, laptop, phones, anything with wifi can connect to your MyWi!!

Works for me. But I have one issue/concern: Cydia asks me to update rock extensions. both the cydia update and the one already in my phone are version 0.97. should I press update? or ssh in and edit version number?

I have the same problem as described above, by the way: what does mywi have more than Pdanet or Tether?
2nd point: my carrier (Vodafone IT) asks me to pay for (native) tethering; I also have a flat plan for data but they say I can use that only for "iPhone internal use" (read it: no tethering included in the flat).
Does Mywi (or PDAnet/Tether) use the native tether service (so I have to pay for it) or not?

Same here... should I just it "upgrade" or leave it as is for the time being? Anyone tried upgrading Rock Extensions? If so, did it break MyWi?

Thanks

I checked out what was contained in the upgrade and it says:

installs RockApps
upgrades Rock Extensions

I myself have not upgraded since it works fine in its current form. I placed Cydia in the docks section of sbsettings so i won't get bothered with the badge associated with not upgrading.

How do you install this app?
Sorry if it's a dumb question.

How-to:

1. Rename the file to something easier/shorter (E.g. rockext.deb and mywi.deb)

2. SSH into your phone (Millions of guides, so I'm not explaining this)

3. Place the .deb files into a folder (I usually just use /private/var/tmp/)

4. Open up MobileTerminal on your iPhone (Install via Cydia)

5. Into MobileTerminal type:

su
alpine
cd /tmp
dpkg -i rockext.deb
dpkg -i anyring.deb

6. Reboot your iPhone

(7. SSH back in and delete the .deb files to save space on HDD)

Thank me HERE if you found this helpful.

I had to install a profile for my carrier to activate tethering. After that MyWi worked :)
