Can someone with a mac please make a 3.1 custom firmware for my iphone 2g?

- 600mb root partition
- only cydia installed (no icy)
- no custom boot logos
- unactivated
- iphone 2g

Yes you can. done that myself, created a custom 3.1 and restore it with itunes v9 for my iphone 2g.

How did you do that?

Is it possible to do on a VMWare install?

I read somewhere it was half VMWare OSX86 to create IPSW and then Windows machine for Restore.

How do I stop in the middle steps?

Pwnage Issue on VMWare OSX instance

I am running Pwnage 3.1.4 Tool on Mac OSX VMWare instance. Pwnage & the files were downloaded on a Windows XP system and then copied to the VM by using & mounting FAT 32 drive.

This is to create a Custom IPSW for iPhone 2G 2.2 > 3.1.2 Update.

I followed iClarifieds tutorial after I copied the required files from a FAT32 drive to the VMWare Machine instance Desktop.

Everythings slow obviously but I keep getting the said Box for login & password privileges..
it keeps coming up again & again.
From what I gather by googling so far its some kind of permission issue

I am running this as Mac Admin & I've even given the folder full privileges via GetInfo.

I havent worked on Mac & related permissions issues in a long time. Do advise how I get past this and creat e my IPSW on the VMWare OSX and then copy it back to the FAT32 Drive for Windows iTunes > Shift-Restore update.

Advise please.
