So exactly how did you install it?

i installed mine like this SSH into your phone and navigate to var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall and put both deb files in there and rebooted, normally when i install stuff that it installs fine, but with swirly its installing but im not getting any icon on the springboard, ive tried respringing and rebooting several times and reinstalling several times, but still no icon.

any ideas?

OK, here it is: (step by step how I did it)

1. Uninstall all swirlyMMS version You have.

2. turn on your native MMS function in iPhone settings (if You have it)
Let SwirlyMMS turn it off by itself (this may be important!)

3. Download:

3. Just copy both deb files into AutoInstall folder and restart your iPhone.
/private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall (if You don't have AutoInstall folder, make it!)

4. After restart do respring (just for sure).

There will be no icon of swirlyMMS yet.

5. Put one more time deb with swirlyMMS (only this) to AutoInstall and restart your iPhone once again.

This is all I did and it's working.

Of course set your MMS configuration into swirlyMMS app properly.

I double checked it and it still working :)

Hiya, thanks for the info, now ive managed to get the icon showing but after it loads it shows the sent folder trash folder inbox folder etc,etc but then they all disappear, strange, any ideas?

Hmm... I never had this issue, strange. I have no idea what could it be... maybe just restart your iP ... i don't know.

I have the same probleme on iphone 3G 3.1.2: the inbox, sendbox, ..., dissapears ... :(

I've found a solution, i don't know if it's very clean but it works:

1: Uninstall old version of SwirlyMMS
2: Reboot your iphone
3: Install SwirlyMMS v2 available here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/27wie1
4: Reboot your iphone
5: Copy the folder /var/root/Library/MMSApp on your desktop
6: Uninstall SwirlyMMS v2
7: Delete the /var/root/Library/MMSApp/ folder of your iphone
8: Reboot your iphone
9:Install this version of SwirlyMMS: http://www.2shared.c.../Swirly219.html
10: Replace the /var/root/Library/MMSApp/ of your iphone by which(?) you have save on your desktop (step 6)
11: Reboot and Enjoy

Hey I just got a quick question about SwirlyMMS. For me to send/receive MMS messages I need to pay $5 to add that onto my plan. I am confused WHY I need to add MMS messaging onto my phone plan for me to receive them and I am wondering if this will be able to receive the pictures that my phone never could.

i used these. yes, they are older, but they still work. you just need to put in the proper settings for your carrier.
yes, it will show settings for china, just put yours in.

mine are image size - high / useragent - applemms

I'm having a problem with sending an mms with SwirlyMMS2. Everything is working fine (the green m is showing in the top right corner) but when I try to send an MMS the process stucks at the middle. The sending bar is showing and is charging half way up but then gets stuck there forever.
Anybody else encountered that problem? Does anyone know how to solve it? Thanks in advance
