Well folks, that didn't take long at all. We now have the ability to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone on the new OS 3.1.3 only days after it's release. We have two options for different basebands, 04.26.08 and 05.11.07.

Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 can jailbreak iPhone 2G, 3G and iPhone 3GS (old bootrom only) on iPhone OS 3.1.3. It also jailbreaks the iPod Touch 1G and iPod Touch 2G (model number not starting with MC). Baseband 04.26.08 can be unlocked using Ultrasn0w. If your baseband is 05.11.07, GeoHot's blacksn0w will work just the same as it did before. (That was released last year Posted Image)

For those of you that have never used any of these programs, please head over to our guides section. Note: We have NOT tested this method. Be smart. Don't do this unless you absolutely have to, or if you want to test and inform others of your success/failure stores Posted Image Again, THIS IS FOR OLD BOOTROMS OF THE 3GS. If you have jailbroken 3.1.2 previously and the jailbreak was untethered you have the old bootrom. If you have a newer 3GS, just stay away.

A couple notes. iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 2G users check your model number Settings -> General -> About. If it starts with MC don't try any 3.1.3 jailbreak.

Next, for those of you that do not know, sn0wbreeze is a custom .ipsw creator for Windows much like the dev team's pwnagetool is for Mac. There are things you need to be aware of because of this. First of all grab the correct firmware for your device. Making a custom .ipsw for the wrong device will do you no good. Second the custom 3.1.3 firmware you create with sn0wbreeze is restored to your device via iTunes. Do not use DFU mode, normal recovery mode should be sufficient. Last and most important YOU CAN NOT restore the custom .ipsw that sn0wbreeze makes on to your device unless you device is ALREADY jailbroken. If you aren't jailbroken thenjailbreak your current firmware (under 3.1.3) using the software of your choice (redsn0w, balckra1n, pwnagetool, wtvr), then create the custom 3.1.3 .ipsw with sn0wbird, then restore it on to your device using normal recovery mode and iTunes.

After you have restored your custom 3.1.3 firmware on to your device you can unlock. iPhone 2G users search for bootneuter in cydia. Users with baseband 04.26.08 search for ultrasn0w in cydia. Baseband 05.11.07 users add the repo blackra1n.com to Cydia and search for blacksn0w.

I have not tried this jailbreak yet so try at your own risk.

File required for this to work.

Dot Net Framework 3.5 required for this to work. Download link: http://download.micr.../dotnetfx35.exe
Windows XP and up.

If someone gets this to work with a 3GS, please upload your ipsw. My 3gs has old bootrom and not an mc serial, but I haven't been able to get it to work. Had to go back to 3.1.2.

If you have a 3GS you should avoid using sn0wbreeze custom ipsw.

MuscleNerd:
At the risk of sounding "mean", everyone please stay away from sn0wbreeze until they've fixed it, or wait for PT, or just ignore 3.1.3.
http://twitter.com/M...atus/8686749650

their 1.3 is causing many people to lock up at boot logo, with apparently more issues like error 14 on 3gs

iH8sn0w:
Side Note: sn0wbreeze V1.3 is fully supported with the iPhone 2G/3G. 3GS users should tend to stay away until a fix (maybe tonight).

How can you have a 3GS without the model number starting with MC.
I thought the iPhone 2G was MA, iPhone 3G was MB, and the iPhone 3GS is MC.....
I got mine the first week and its definitely an MC model. Anyways... i wasnt stupid to update to 3.1.3,

Ok for all iPhone 3GS users who r getting stuck on the boot screen. Do this

1. Turn your phone off by holding the power and home button.
2. Your iPhone should be disconnected from the USB cable
3. Now hold the home button and connect it to your USB device and keep holding the home button till you see the iTunes logo on your iPhone
4. Now iTunes should show your device is in recovery mode.
5. Hold Shift and click on restore and select your old 3.1.2 custom firmware.
6. This should work and bring your device back to 3.1.2 custom firmware.

Once again this is only for those iPhones who get stuck on the boot screen.

is there any way to jailbreak if have 3.1.3 on 3g if not jailbroken already? Was jailbroken on 3.1.2 phone crapped out and had no choice but to do upgrade to 3.1.3 since that's all itunes lets you do from restore mode. Been screwing with it all night to try and get 3.1.2 but keeps getting hosed. Need some good advice, please help. Need to be jailbroken since home button is crapping out and mquickdo make life so much simplier aside from the other obvious reasons of jailbreak.

I had same prob, my phone updated to 3.1.3 and took me all day but finally got it jbd using redsnow 0.92 (not 0.94) and it worked first time, tried using 0.94 a few times but would not reboot, just sat there, arrgghh, so try redsnow0.94 and follow instructions and you will be ok, I am again a happy camper, phew, was horrible not having the apps ringtones and of course theme I liked, felt like I had both hands cut off. Thnak you redsnow.

if you are on official carrier and do not need unlock for 3.1.3 then just shift restore to official 3.1.3 then use redsn0w 0.9.2 and jailbreak
you will need to use 3.1.2 firmware when redsn0w asks for ispw
