For people who don't understand:

A Virtual Private Network is a fake network that you use that lets websites think that youre in a different location, by routing all your traffic through a Server Based IP, programs like pandora and the like compare your IP address to see what country its from, so HotSpot Shield VPN makes it think that its in the USA

its like going through a proxy to access the web, but this goes through vpn so its more secure.

the servers you connect to see a US IP instead of what ever yours is, this to get passed some restrictions in some countries

VPN's stand for virtual private networks.
Your device will connect to them. The VPN will then connect to the website, or whatever you tell it too.
The VPN will then relay the information back to your device.

does hotspot shield still work? I tried using it yesterday and it wouldn't let me in.
