hey y'all
just got an iphone 4 and im pretty sure the battery is a lemon...
When i fully charged my year old 3g iPhone i could listen to music for about 45 Mins and the phone would still hang on 100% battery. I fully charged my iPhone 4 today and after 20 mins of standbye (literally took it off the charger straight into my pocket, didnt touch it at all) it dropped 1 percent. i then sent 2 texts and opened safari for 1-2 mins and its now at 96%...is this a lemon battery or is it normal for new iPhones to have a shoddy battery at the start of getting it?

well maybe the battery percentage is more well calibrated for the iphone 4. on the 3g, you might see 100% for awhile, then it'll drop much more later on

on my ipod, it tends to hang at 100-90% for ages, then suddenly drops to 30 or so, and then stays there for ages. I wouldn't be to worried about individual percentages. Be more concerned about overall battery life.
New GSUtil for Grooveshark 2.3.1-1
(Now converts any offline songs for regular playback too)

Thank where appropriate =]

you're not alone dude im having the same problem... on my iphone 4, 10 mins of usage my battery drops down to 96% using safari unlike on my old iphone 3g 15-20 mins of safari usage im still at 99%... i tried restoring this thing but it stayed the same... together with the proximity sensor problems and email not pushing (i dont have the antenna issue though) im getting fed of this phone and might return it...

Yea just turn off battery percentage you'll be surprise.. I get around 11hrs standby and 5hrs of usage. In those 5hrs thats gaming, texting, music, web browsing and even the occasionally video or picture. All while not turning 3G or wifi off. This battery is better than my 3GS but way better than 3G and 2G. The battery percentage thing is mental.

I am a bit more concerned with the overall battery life and power cycle the phone almost every alternate days. Its just that my use is so heavy that it ends up dying each day.
I have:
iPhone 3GS iOS 4.0.1 JB - Factory Unlocked
3 IMAP EMail accounts Fetching every 15 Minutes.
1 Exchange Account
Beejive always in the background
2 Hours of phone usage each day
IMing over 30 minutes with my clients each day.
Wifi for a few hours when I am home (Limited Data Plan)

Skype calling from Wifi for 1 Hour.

Overall I get 6 hours and 15 Minutes if I am using Skype calling via WIFI.

When I am not using Skype Calling (like yesterday), I got 7 Hours and 30 Minutes with 16 Hours stand by.

I dont think you can expect much more out of that.
_If I Helped, Please Hit Thanks_

Wow, buyers remorse much? You're trying to diagnose a faulty battery based on a 4% drop. Try actually using your phone for a whole day and see what it does.

i think the battery indicator is a lot more accurate then the 3gs, i was thinking the same thing as you when I got it originally, but its still outlasting my 3gs.
