If you are interested in joining The xSellize Repo team then read below


Firstly, this task demands a lot of time. It must be worked on daily, doing updates and adding new packages. It's not for the lighthearted

Secondly, you must have a lot of knowledge in apt and making packages because no one will be there to hold your hand along the way. You must be able to show that you are capable in this post otherwise dismiss this post and feel free to carry on browsing the forum, you can be a just as valuable member by contributing in other ways.

We aim to gain the reputation of 'The Best Repo' which we unfortunately cannot do in the repo's present state. Please remember this when applying. It's a job which requires much dedication. We've considered many options about how to go about this and here's how it's going to go.

If you'd like to join the repo team, you must already know how to make a Debian package. Take the package of your choice and PM me (PigPox) the deb we will test and release on the repo within 24hours. Only Packages that are bug free and comply with the control file will be accepted on the repo and you entered for the post. If it all works well, you've made a successful application for the post and will be actively considered.

BUT this deb must be compiled with our control file which an example is posted below.For those that will be making packages only submit ones that work to me. The xSellize repo has 6 sections:
X Apps
X Fonts
X Games
X Tonez
X Graphix
X Vip (Only apps that cannot be hosted on the normal repo will be posted here)

That is an example control file for megafont v2 obviously everything would need to be changed to match the app you are making.

Remember that certain privileges and responsibilities come with this job and you'd be expected to be able to fill those shoes, we would require you to be in the repo IRC room as often as possible in order to help coordinate the team.

P.S. When PMing me the deb i need to know the app name, version, and what the depiction url you have entered so I can verify it's correctness.

Note: I will state this very STRONGLY!. If you DO NOT have the adequate amount of time for the repo then DO NOT waste my time by posting that you can help occasionally. Whilst we do accept 'guest additions' to the repo occasionally, this post does not concern that.
Also, all repomen are required to be in IRC all the time during repo maintaining. So if any issues arise they can be delt with accordingly, then and there.

When applying, please include which of the 5 above sections would be your preference to manage, we are looking to recruit for all of them.

I can do this! I have an iPod Touch 2G, 3G and soon 4G ( ) and a computer with Windows and Ubuntu. How much time do I need to spend everyday (approximately)?

depends what time you got things for the repo in the 4.x section appear at any givin time in any givin day... im not always on but even in the low light of me not being seen on i do the repo siliently.. but most of the time u are required to be onlin in irc while doing repo just to keep us u and be informed/updated.. i check for repo stuff many times a day just cuz im always around a pc to do so... give me a hollinirc if u can ill e on around 6pm est time cuz i got things to do :/ u can talk to me or sadam

dude im sorry for the late post I thought xSellize would send me email notifications on new posts until i noticed that I didnt turn em on. I cant be on the whole day, I have school. I could work around 5 hours everyday from 5:30 to 10 PM and if its important I could go on in school.

sorry you wouldnt get Full access anyway & 2nd even with joking Comments .. that doesnt even get you close to the door.. + you do have your own repo and your own set up with other repo's..

Come to our irc Xchat & we can Talk again u can reach me Or sAdam as irc is needed to communitcate on a more regular basis cuz of the repo..... then we can see where your heads at and what you a re capable of ..

Dont wrry about being fast .. the more Practce you get the faster you will get.. it takes time .. Hell it didnt take me just over night to learn to do the repo.. so any help is a givin start & learning is a Experiance.. As i said to another member Come to irc & yo can discuss more with me or sadam about the repo issues concerns and what or what not to do

I would like to, but I do know how much time I'd need to put in. I have school most days.

EDIT: I will most likely be able to do it every day. If not mostly likely the next so I'll just have to pile two days work onto one. If that's ok sometimes to happen. And I would like to work in X Graphics.

I don't understand what we have to do to apply for this position. I understand that we have to PM you a packaged app/etc., but what do we package?

for example take a paid theme. you would make a folder called "Theme" and in it two folder DEBIAN and Library. then in library a folder called Themes( inside Themes would be the actual theme)
inside debian make a control file and put the text in it

and dont forget the newline at the end or it wont package.

then open up terminal and type dpkg -b Theme and ur good to go!
hint dont forget about permissions
