No, at least not at my company. If the phone isn't connected to GOOD, they don't pay for the service.

The whole point of getting the iPhone (for me) was to have the company pay for the service. If they won't pay for the service, I might as well just sell it.

I got this working yesterday, and today a new version of the good client came out which fixed @bugs@ - unfortunately this has now triggered a compliance failure - any suggestions ?

I can confirm that this is working with my UK Iphone 4 running IOS 5.0 jailbroken. I have XCon installed and then installed Good. I got the pin from IT (I am IT). At first it didn't pull down my emails but when I clicked new message and sent on they all came down! I can confirm this is working and Good hasn't detected the jailbreak!

I'd you sync with your computer then delete this version off your phone and resumc it with the old version from your computer. Just don't download the update again

I had that same problem too. I shouldn't have downloaded that update. :(

I did that. I deleted the new 1.9.7 off my iPhone. Installed the 1.9.6 version. Still got the "scary" Compliance screen; so there was something set on the iPhone -- probably in the encrypted Good data. Checked for new version of XCon but there wasn't one.

So, distresslingly, I've removed the jailbreak on my iPhone. Did restore in iTunes. I can't take the chance of getting on the wrong side of Compliance department in the large company that I'm employed by. From what I've read, the IT department will be aware of this violation. This was effectively my second warning as I got that Compliance warning, with the older version, before I installed XCon. So I would not be able to claim ignorance any longer.

F***ing Good Technology app; why do they have to enable this jailbreak check feature???

Just get a company phone and carry around an extra device. I do it all the time. iPhones aren't that huge. Problem solved, lol.

I don't need Good technology for the phone capability, I need it for the email capability.

Unfortunately, the reason I went to Good technology on my iPhone was that I could rid of having to carry two devices around!! I got tired of carrying around the BlackBerry (work) and iPhone (personal) all the time. Found that I was often leaving BlackBerry behind (which meant I wasn't always on top of my emails).

A couple of years ago, I used to carry around a BlackBerry, a Palm device and a personal cell phone. That was obviously even worse :(

I have the Good app running on my JB iPhone4 (iOS 5.0.1). Logically assuming that my company doesn't have the JB detection feature enabled, as I've been using Good for almost a year now and there's never been a time when my device hasn't been JB. I guess I'm one of the luckier ones.

That said, the real reason I'm replying to your post is because, at least for me, the Good app will not allow a log in unless the device is running the most current version of the software. I would always put off updating the app because it would always make me re-enter my PIN (which I never thought to keep) after each update, but I think there's a grace period of X number of logins or X number of days following a new version release, but after so long the app will render an alert telling the user that a new version is available and to update immediately. Like I said though, this happened for ME, so all these things may also be items that can be set at the server level based on a company's infosec policy.

And for the people who simply say "just go back to using a company smartphone device", it's really not that simple anymore. At least in the US, many corporations are abandoning the expensive practice of supplying its employees with a BlackBerry or other smartphone, and opting for a less costly solution (like Good for Enterprise). My company switched from RIM's BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) to a Good Enterprise solution and it's saved them a good bit of $ so far. RIM charges companies a per user fee for BES, while (I believe) Good is just a flat-fee unlimited-seat license. Anyway, just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth... Thanks.
